Minor stuff, but had some pieces reprinted in Village Voice Media outlets across the country:
Houston Press ran my Islands review, while Miami New Times ran a Modest Mouse show preview I did a while back.

Here’s some links to some LA Times articles I had published last year:
OK, enough updating, time for some new shit.
My favorite director, Werner Herzog, just released a new film, Encounters at the End of the World, in select cities. Review is here.
Last October, I made my third trip to Iceland – my second to cover Iceland Airwaves. This time, I was lucky enough to work for both SF Weekly and Reykjavik Grapevine. After the festival, I rented a car and drove around the entire country in 4 nights. Here’s how that turned out (scroll down through these PDF files to find my article).
Some recent work in SF Weekly:
Moral dilemma of a liberal Nuge fan
Review of Peter Moren’s The Last Tycoon
Some links to recent live reviews I’ve done for Play, LA Weekly’s music blog:
I’ve been doing occasional postings at AOL’s music site, Spinner, for a few months now. Here are some of the most recent ones:
Jay Reatard: I spoke with Jay on the phone in Memphis before he heads out on his next tour. He’s got this new singles collection out now on In the Red, but please, please, please listen to Blood Visions, one of my fave albums of last year (even though it actually came out in 2006).
The War on Drugs: The War on Drugs has put out what is possibly my favorite record of the year, even though we’re only halfway through. I spoke with singer/songwriter Adam Granduciel for this piece.
RZA: Possibly the best interview I’ve ever conducted with one of my heroes. Bung.

I do a monthly hip-hop roundup for Lost at Sea, check out the July edition, published today.
